Communications Manager - Synaxis

Program Summary: 

Within the WWCDM team at Microsoft, we owned the CDS Best Practices program. The purpose of this initiative was to capture vetted and leadership approved best practices, learnings, and great executions from the global CDS teams. Employee submissions were collected, evaluated, approved  and communicated every quarter through a consolidated magazine, which was sent from the General Manager of WWCDM. In addition to the recognition through the magazine, the most Best Practice that made the most impact, would be presented on stage during the annual START event. Recognizing both the Best Practice and the individual or teams involved.  

My Role: 

As the consulting Communications Project Manager on the team, I was responsible for the end to end process and management of this initiative; from communications, vetting submissions, tool management, evangelizing the program, communications, working with users, managing reviews with LOB and discipline leads, as well as executive reviewers for final approval prior to publishing to the site and digital magazine. We found through surveys and anecdotal feedback that this program not only helped us create a record of best practices that are shareable and able to be replicated around the world, but also we saw an increase in employee satisfaction for the recognition of their great work.
